Integrated Solution

Our integrated solution addresses three key issues to insure that New Zealand's pulp industry is thriving in 2070.

  • Sourcing its own plantations to reduce raw materials cost

  • Reducing waste production through improved processes

  • Increasing demand by investing in new technologies

Instead of focussing on one sector of the pulp industry the solutions work together by strengthening the overall pulping process. This will keep New Zealand's pulp industry internationally competitive by targeting reduced production costs and increasing global demand for the pulp and the new products that will be derived from it.

Research and development into power source and drive technology for harvester. Needs to be complete by 2030.

Need to survey and purchase adequate land by 2028.

Research and development into materials for harvester. Needs to be complete by 2040.

Need to plant land by 2035.

Research and development into communications. Needs to be complete by 2045.

Develop controls and finalise electrical and mechanical designs. Build protorype. Consulation with avionics company for UAV design .Needs to be complete by 2055.

Workshop followed by field testing for havester. Construction of portacom HQ. And purchase of UAV.

Needs to be complete by 2065.

Improved Fibre Availability

Staff hired trained. Start harvesting at 2068.

Reduced Waste
Production

Research & Development undertaken to improve heat efficiency of Super-critical water gasification process.

Optimization of feed flow rates researched.

Prototyping of small-scale SCWG technology.

Begin gathering data regarding performance on a larger, more industrial scale.

Experimentation of alternative feed-stocks. Municipal waste and other wastes and possibility of becoming green energy supplier should be considered.

Once SCWG technology has been vindicated on a technological and commercial basis, pulp/paper industry as a whole to adopt SCWG in order to diminish their environmental impact.

Increased Market
Demand
  • Product development to to reduce price below %5/kg.

  • Water proofing surface.

  • Integration into industries(marketing).

All needs to be complete by 2025.

Development of composites properties and production price.

All needs to be complete by 2050.

Integration in electronics industries (eg computer components and screens).

Start this process in 2020, needs to be complete by 2060.

Continued R & D to improve production cost (get down to $1-2 / kg).

R & D in further improvement of properties (heat resistance etc). Complete by 2070
